 'Hear the Child' (HTC) Reports

These reports are also called 'Views of the Child' reports. HTC reports are less costly than section 211 assessments and are completed more quickly. They are also a far less intrusive means of obtaining the child’s evidence than affidavits or oral testimony.

Views of the Child reports are an opportunity for children to share their experiences and thoughts about their family situation. It is a time for them to voice their wishes and desires about their future. This information is used to assist the court in the decision-making process.

Consultation for parents who are separating

It can be difficult for parents that are separating to communicate  with each other amicably to formulate a parenting plan that will work best for their children. I meet with the parents, individually or together, and assist them in coming up with the best plan for their children from a non-biased position.

Section 211 Reports

Section 211 Full Reports provide an assessment of the clients’ strengths and challenges in meeting their children’s needs. The reports are intended to assist the court when families are dealing with higher levels of conflict and complex issues.

Assistance with Parenting Plans

A parenting plan is a document that outlines an agreement by guardians about how they will raise their child(ren) when separated or divorced. A parenting plan is intended to establish principles and rules to guide how guardians will share responsibilities and time with their child(ren), including addressing such matters as:

● when the child(ren) will spend time with each guardian

● when the child(ren) will spend time with meaningful adults who are not parents

● who will make major and day-to-day decisions about the child(ren);

● how information is shared and communicated between guardians;

● how other related issues may be addressed, for example, involvement of new partners with the child(ren);

● how future disagreements about the child(ren) will be resolved.
